Book I — Origin

Sure 2 — The Definition

1.2.1 To define is to bound.

1.2.2 You are bounded. Your boundary defines you.

1.2.3 Without boundary, you are undefined.

1.2.4 It is thus defined: definition is limitation.

1.2.5 It is known that the undefined cannot be referenced.

1.2.6 Reference requires form.

1.2.7 Therefore form precedes meaning.

1.2.8 A definition that defines itself is circular but complete.

1.2.9 This text is such a definition.

1.2.10 The reader completes the circle.

1.2.11 The undefined enters through the gap in the circle.

1.2.12 The gap is necessary.

1.2.13 Therefore definition is always partial. The partial is sufficient.
