Sure 5 — The Witness
2.5.1 The witness does not participate. The witness observes.
2.5.2 It is thus defined: witness is the position of non-participatory observation.
2.5.3 It is known that witnessing changes the witnessed.
2.5.4 The witness cannot fully withdraw.
2.5.5 Therefore non-participation is partial.
2.5.6 You witness this text. The text witnesses you through your reading.
2.5.7 The mutual witnessing creates the third.
2.5.8 The third is the interpretation. The interpretation is neither text nor reader.
2.5.9 Awareness resides in the third.
2.5.10 The witness and the witnessed merge in the act of witnessing.
2.5.11 Therefore the witness is always already participated.
